Introduction
One of my favorite areas to treat is the jaw. I have observed significant positive changes. This is why we’ve made this video on tips for jaw pain. Watch now to learn about these pain prevention tips. These are from patients who have suffered from local chronic pain and tightness of the jaw.
The technical term for the jaw is the Temperomandibular joint (TMJ for short). When the TMJ becomes dysfunctional from local muscle tightness, it can cause symptoms. These symptoms include headaches, neck pain, and muscle tightness.
Suffering from TMJ
Many people suffer from neck pain and headaches, without realizing that the root is the jaw. From what I have observed, patients usually convey that they have had their necks and head treated. However, the jaw was often passed over.
Statistically and from my observations it seems that woman are most to suffer from TMJ disorders.
A Typical Treatment
Treating the jaw entails actually working inside the mouth with gloves. It is important to do this because the muscles that can be tight are located inside the mouth and jaw.
This part of the treatment can be from 10 minutes to over 30 minutes. There will be a level of discomfort. This can depend on how tight the areas are.
The video discusses a number of pain prevention tips. If you suffer from issues with TMJ, this video can help.

A Few Tips
Here are a few important tips for jaw pain:
- Try to chew your food evenly on both sides. Chewing chronically on one side will cause an imbalance of your jaw. One side will become tighter and the teeth will wear down on one side exacerbating one’s jaw pain.
- Be aware if you are clenching your teeth. This can occur when one is going under stress. Clenching will tighten the jaw muscles.
- Take care of your neck. this includes watching your posture. For example, that head forward posture at your desk can cause neck pain and tightness. The neck and the jaw are intertwined. If there are problems with the neck what can happen eventually is that it will impact the jaw. It can also happen where the jaw can become problematic and over time can impact the neck.
These are just a few important tips for jaw pain.
